Capitalism Crumbling?, Feb. 10
Carrier Air Conditioning is closing its Tyler plant. It will be moving operations to Mexico.
Apple Computing, the worlds’ most profitable corporation, used to manufacture products in U.S., but not anymore. Now Apple employs over 700,000 Chinese, directly or indirectly.
Cheaper labor is not the only motivation, either. Chinese factories are owned or highly subsidized by the Chinese government.
Our leaders continue to tell us that American manufacturing and labor can compete with any in the world.
As the Marx Brothers said in the old movie “Duck Soup,” “Who you going to believe, me or your own eyes?”
It’s time we believe our own eyes.
