Family Planning, Feb. 10
Recent discussions about family planning and birth control issues via health insurance mandates has brought howls of damage to religious freedom from opportunists who choose to ignore facts on the ground in the United States.
In a democratic, diverse and secular society such as ours, it is up to the church to sell its program to its members, and not the job of the civil government to act as an enforcer of church doctrine.
Jesus did not coerce people into believing in him, but conversely was opposed to the religious leaders of the time who laid heavy burdens on people that they themselves would not bear.
