Whitehouse Woman Gets 25 Years For Injury To Child

Judge Christi Kennedy this morning sentenced a Whitehouse woman to serve up to 25 years in prison after she pleaded guilty to two counts of injury to a child in September.
Malesha Marie Johnson, 22, was the mother to the child who was permanently brain damaged and blinded after beatings from her former boyfriend, Cody Lane Davis.
A Smith County jury convicted Davis and sentenced him to 33 years last week.
Johnson received a 25-year sentence for each of two counts of injury to a child. The sentences will be served concurrently. She is eligible for parole after 12 1/2 years.
