Bassmaster Central Open
Bass fishing pros are not looking forward to opening the Bassmaster Central Open season Feb. 9-11 on Lake Lewisville.

“Well, I’m excited about the chance at gaining a Classic berth, but otherwise there are other Central [Opens] I’m looking forward to more,” said Bassmaster Elite Series pro Mike McClelland. “Lewisville has some good fish in it, but it’s not one of Texas’ best lakes.”

The last time the tour was on Lewisville was last year and it took 45-15 to win.

The lake had been down almost six feet, but now is less than two feet low.

Weigh-ins today and Friday are free and will be held at 3 p.m. at Lewisville Lake Park, 100 E. Lake Park Rd. The final weigh-in, after the field has been cut to 12 pro anglers and co-anglers, will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Bass Pro Shops, 2501 Bass Pro Dr., in Grapevine.
