Rusk County authorities continue to investigate a convenience store after seizing roughly $13,000 of a synthetic drug commonly known as K2 Tuesday.

Deputies with the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office’s narcotics division raided Bunny’s Convenient Store in the 10100 block of Texas Highway 64 in Turnertown around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to a news release issued by the office.

In a back room, authorities found roughly seven pounds of the substance, which was outlawed in September, the release stated.

A store employee also was arrested after authorities said they discovered some of the substance in her purse. The employee is charged with possession of a controlled substance, a class B misdemeanor, according to the release. The employee’s bond was set at $3,000.
