TISD Board Approves Long-Range Plan, Looking At Possible November Bond Election
Tyler ISD school board members unanimously approved the district's long-range plan at a meeting this evening. The school district is looking at calling a bond election for November.
The long-range plan is designed to serve as a road map for facility upgrades and programmatic changes through 2020.
Key components of the proposed plan include building an Advanced Technology and Career Center; building new John Tyler and Robert E. Lee high schools; creating fifth- and sixth-grade centers; creating seventh- and eighth-grade centers; and building new Dixie and Rice elementary schools.
