Saturday Wreck Kills Three In Rusk County
Three men are dead after a single-vehicle wreck Saturday night in Rusk County.
Blake Winfrey, 19, of Henderson, Nicholas, 17, and Timoas Garza, 21, both of Selman City, were killed when the vehicle they were in struck a tree on Texas Highway 42 about 9 p.m. Saturday, according to an accident report from the Department of Public Safety.
The men were traveling north on the Texas 42 in a 2003 Ford Mustang, driven by Winfrey, when they drifted into the southbound lane, the report states. Winfrey overcorrected when returning to his lane, left the road and struck a tree, according to the report.
All three were pronounced dead at the scene. Trooper Dustin Nichols, with the department, investigated the wreck.
