Empty Promises, Feb. 5
After three years, President Barack Obama is going around the country promoting the programs and bills that he says will get the economy of this country back up and running once again. He has promoted all the stimulus spending over the past three years, saying it would keep the unemployment rate below 8 percent (which it has not).
He is promoting another government give-away that will cost taxpayers at least $500 billion to refinance house loans through Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. Obama spent taxpayer money to buy General Motors for the labor unions and is still spending taxpayer money to get people to buy the Volt. He has given billions of taxpayer dollars to failed “green companies” and continues to promote these companies as the way to increase jobs in America even though they keep going bankrupt.

He has given millions of taxpayer dollars to foreign countries (Mexico, Brazil, etc.) to drill for oil and yet cancels a pipeline project from Canada that would reduce further our dependency on oil from Middle East countries that hate America. Last week he began talking about increase permits to drill for natural gas even though the EPA under his direction has slowed down permits for the past three years.
Listen to his campaign promises this year and compare them to his 2008 promises. Is “hope and change” a legitimate program? As Henry Ford said “You don’t build a reputation on what you are going to do.”
