Enlightened Catholic leaders thought they could work with President Barack Obama and thus supported Obamacare. On Jan. 20, they received a double slap in the face. Under Obamacare, all Catholic organizations will be required to pay for health insurance that covers sterilization, contraceptives and abortifacients. This rule also extends to evangelical and other religious entities. To say this is an assault on religion by the president is putting it mildly.

Also, if anyone cares, Obama recently named an unvetted director to the new Consumer Protection Finance Agency created by the Dodd-Frank Finance Reform Act. This man and his agency will have total power over every financial institution in the country; and he only answers to Obama.

If these news items, along with one and one-half trillion dollar deficits, severe defense cuts, assault on our energy sector etc., don’t disturb every American, we are in real danger of losing our republic and freedoms.
