Air Force


Air Force Airman Matthew Allen Hancock graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

He is the son of Bill and Yvonne Smith, of Whitehouse, and Ron and Stephanie Hancock, of Greeley, Colo., Grandparents include Joe and Josie Rodriguez, of Tyler, and Carl and Vivian Hancock, of Flint.

Hancock is a 2007 honor graduate of Whitehouse High School and attended The University of Texas at Tyler. He had been employed at Brookshire's in Whitehouse since 2006, before joining the Air Force.

Airman Hancock is now attending Tech School at The Presidio Air Force Base in Monterrey, Calif., studying to become a cryptolinguist.

Air Force Reserve Airman Randall S. Neal graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Neal, son of Evance Anderson, of Tyler, is a 2005 graduate of John Tyler High School.

Air Force Airman Colton W. York graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

York, son of Candace and Kevin York, of Tyler, is a 2010 graduate of Whitehouse High School.


Marines


Marine Corps Pfc. Landon R. Suggs, son of Cathy M. Suggs, of Jacksonville, recently graduated from the Marine Aviation Supply Specialist Course with Marine Aviation Training Support Squadron One, Marine Aviation Support Training Support Group 21, Meridian, Miss.

Students in this course learn to perform the functions necessary that provide logistical support to aviation activities. They perform tasks dealing with aviation supply support, including financial management, inventory management, material management, personnel staffing, and requisitioning procedures.
