Heaton Eye Purchases Craig Eye In Henderson
Heaton Eye Associates announced it has purchased Craig Eye Associates in Henderson.
Craig Eye Associates and Dr. David C. Craig have served Henderson patients for more than 31 years. Heaton Eye Associates and Drs. Todd Nickel and Matthew Marshall will join with Craig to continue providing vision care and state-of-the-art technology in East Texas.
Nickel is a board certified ophthalmologist, specializing in no shot, no stitch, no patch cataract surgery with Lifestyle Lenses, All-Laser LASIK vision correction, BOTOX Cosmetic and oculoplastic surgery.
Marshall is a therapeutic optometrist specializing in contact lenses, glasses and medical conditions, including allergy and dry eye syndrome. He works closely with the physicians at Heaton Eye Associates to provide comprehensive primary and post-operative care.
Heaton Eye Associates has clinics in Tyler, Longview, Athens and an Ambulatory Surgery Center and Laser Vision Center in Tyler.
JOINED ALLIANCE
NDMJ Ltd. Transportation, a Tyler company, joined the national Alliance AutoGas network to bring clean-burning propane autogas conversions to Texas fleets.
Autogas helps businesses and municipal fleets drive green while saving money on fuel and maintenance costs.
Alliance AutoGas welcomed five new certified conversion centers, including the Tyler business, to its growing national network of partners to provide fleets with EPA-certified autogas vehicle conversions, as well as ongoing service and technical support.
Certified Alliance AutoGas conversion centers are equipped to implement both bi-fuel and dedicated propane vehicle conversions using Prins vapor and liquid injection technology. Alliance has the largest privately financed portfolio of autogas vehicle certifications in the U.S., with more than 200 vehicle types eligible for autogas conversions.
BIG GAME PARTY
Habitat for Humanity of Smith County, Buffalo Wild Wings of Tyler and 102.3 The Breeze are joining forces today to raise money at a Super Bowl party to ensure Habitat continues building and repairing homes for people in need.
Kickoff for the event at Buffalo Wild Wings, 7916 S. Broadway Ave., is at 5:30 p.m. The Breeze will broadcast the Patriots-Giants game live and a silent auction will feature signed sports memorabilia from SCP Authentic.
This is the second year Buffalo Wild Wings has hosted "Habitat's Big Game Party." The restaurant will donate a portion of the entire day's proceeds to Habitat for Humanity of Smith County and SPC Authentic will donate a portion of its proceeds to the nonprofit.
ASSISTANT VP
Lane B. McDaniel joined the staff of Texas Bank and Trust Company as assistant vice president at the Tyler West Grande branch.
McDaniel has been involved in community banking since 2002 and has worked as market/branch manager and branch business sales manager with Capital One Bank in Tyler. In his new position with Texas Bank and Trust, he will work with the market president in developing loan and deposit relationships for new and existing bank customers. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Texas A&M University-Texarkana and serves on several local boards and organizations.
BRANCH MANAGERS
Southside Bank announced three new branch managers.
Greg Adcock is branch manager at the bank's Texas Highway 64 location; Brian Merritt is manager at the Gresham bank; and Jay Abercrombie is manager of the Jacksonville location.
Adcock is a senior vice president, lender and branch manager for Southside Bank. He is a graduate of Texas Tech University and Leadership Tyler Class 21. He serves on several community boards.
Abercrombie joined Southside Bank as a retail banker in 2001. He was named assistant manager in two branches in Tyler and Lindale before being named assistant vice president and branch manager in Bullard in 2003. Abercrombie, along with the Bullard branch, expanded his role in becoming the branch manager of Southside Bank's Chandler and Whitehouse retail locations in 2008 and 2009. He has recently been named vice president and branch manager of the Jacksonville Branch. He has served as board member for several associations in Tyler and Bullard and serves as a Bullard City Council member.
Merritt was promoted to senior vice president and manager of Southside's Gresham Branch. During his 14-year career at Southside, he has served as a retail banker, branch manager of the Lake Palestine Branch, loan officer at the bank's main office and manager of the Highway 64 West Branch. He attended Tyler Junior College, Texas Tech University and The University of Texas at Tyler. He serves on several boards and organizations. He served two years as a loan executive for the United Way of Tyler/Smith County and is a graduate of Leadership Tyler Class 24.
EXECUTIVE VP
Pam Morgan has been named executive vice president of Telco Plus Credit Union.
Mrs. Morgan has been with Telco Plus since March 2008 as its vice president of lending. She has had more than 30 years of experience in the local financial industry. Mrs. Morgan lives the credit union's mission of "impacting members lives through positive financial experiences." Her hard work, ambition, determination and dedication earned her the new role.
CREDENTIALS
Lauren Jacquez and Kimberly Peel, from The Growing Stick Learning Center, were awarded a Child Development Associate credential in recognition of outstanding work with young children.
The Council for Professional Recognition in Washington, D.C. awards credentials to early childhood educators who demonstrate the ability to constructively work with children in group settings. The CDA is a nationally recognized credential in early childhood education. Each candidate is observed working with young children and is assessed on their ability to develop the physical, emotional and intellectual capabilities of young children.
AWARD
Gonzalo Egana, with RE/MAX Tyler, qualified for the RE/MAX 100 Percent Club Award for 2011, which honors successful agents who have earned at least $100,000 in commissions in the past year.
In 2011, only 17 percent of all RE/MAX affiliates worldwide earned the award. Egana has worked in the real estate industry for more than five years and has experience in residential properties. He was in the Executive Club in 2009 and 2010 and has obtained his designation as an accredited buyer's representative, his certification of short sales and foreclosure resource and his designation as an e-Pro technology expert.
TAXPAYER SEMINAR
The Texas Comptroller's Office will offer a free taxpayer seminar for business owners from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Tyler Chamber of Commerce, Genecov Room, 315 N. Broadway Ave.
During the seminar, taxpayers can learn how to properly fill out sales tax forms, file and pay taxes electronically and learn more about e-services to help taxpayers manage their accounts online. Comptroller representatives will be available to answer questions and provide assistance to attendees.

EMERGENCY LOANS
Applications for emergency farm loans for losses caused by drought, excessive heat, high winds and wildfires since Jan. 1, 2011, are being accepted at the Farm Service Agency office in Tyler.
Anderson, Cherokee, Gregg, Henderson, Rusk, Smith, Upshur and Van Zandt counties are eight of 254 Texas counties named by Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack to be eligible for loans to cover part or actual production and/or physical losses.
Michelle King said farmers may be eligible for up to 100 percent of their actual losses or the operating loan needed to continue the agricultural business, whichever is less. For farmers unable to obtain credit from private commercial lenders, the interest rate is 3.75 percent.
As a general rule, a farmer must have suffered at least 30 percent loss of crop production or suffered any physical loss to be eligible for an FSA emergency loan under the disaster designation. Applications will be accepted until April 24 but farmers should apply as soon as possible. The FSA office in Tyler, at 4209 Republican Drive, is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Tyler Chamber Small Business Breakfast will be held at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at Traditions restaurant, 6205 S. Broadway Ave. Come prepared to give a one-minute commercial about your business and hand out business cards and brochures at the "Breakfast Networking" event. Reservations are limited; cost is $10 at the door.
TRAINING SERIES
As part of Leadership Tyler's Business Training Series, the organization will hold a Business Etiquette workshop on Feb. 22.
Participants will learn how to make the right choices in business etiquette. It will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at the Courtyard Marriott, 7424 S.
