District spokeswoman Laura Jackson on Friday would not say what type of misconduct was being investigated.
However, she said, the alleged incident involved a male employee and a female student. She said the campus and district began the investigation immediately upon learning of the allegations.
The employee, who is not a teacher, has been placed on unpaid leave pending the outcome of the investigation, Mrs. Jackson said.
The student reported the incident to John Tyler administration at the end of the day on Wednesday, Mrs. Jackson said.
John Tyler Principal Shon Joseph reported it to district administrators on Thursday morning, she said.
Mrs. Jackson declined to release information about when or where the alleged incident or incidents occurred, saying the investigation was ongoing.
“We’ll respond appropriately according to what we find out through the course of the investigation,” she said by phone.
