Man In Custody After Shooting
One man is in custody after allegedly shooting another man in the chest in Wood County on Wednesday night.
Deputies with the Wood County Sheriff's Office were called to the 600 block of Holly Trail East shortly after 9 p.m., where they discovered Tommy Winkle, 55, with a gunshot wound to the chest, according to a news release issued by the office Thursday.
Winkle was taken to Mother Frances Hospital with serious injuries and was in stable condition Thursday, sheriff's office spokesman Chief Deputy Wed Criddle said.
Deputies arrested Winkle's brother, Arvis Winkle, for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, family violence, the release reads.
Arvis was in custody at the Wood County Detention Facility Thursday on a $50,000 bond.
