The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler will offer a series of free diabetes education classes beginning February 7 in Hudnall Auditorium at the center, 11937 U.S. 271 in Tyler.

Empower Diabetes is a series of four classes that focuses on managing diabetes. Each free session is offered from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on successive Tuesdays: Feb. 7, 14, 21, and 28.

Session topics include high and low blood sugar, meal planning, glucose monitoring, exercise and diabetes, medications and insulin administration, and foot care.
