UPDATE: New Details In Dart-Shooting Incident

New details provided today by Tyler Police:
The two victims did not know each other and were in different areas of the parking lot when they were struck with the dart;
The victim's names are Kathryn Bilberry, 26, of Chandler, and Stephanie Spencer, 22, a student attending UT. Tyler.
The suspects had purchased the dart gun at Academy 7:50 p.m. last night and used it a short time after, to shoot the two female victims.
Police believe that this was a random act of violence and these two females were not targeted.

Three teenagers were arrested Monday night after police said two people were shot with darts in the parking lot of a Tyler Wal-Mart.
Officers responded to the Wal-Mart at 5050 Troup Highway about 8:50 p.m. Monday in reference to an aggravated assault. Two females told police they were shot with darts in the parking lot in two separate incidents, according to a prepared statement from police.
Both said they were hit with a dart that penetrated their skin and stuck in them about 1 inch while they were standing in the parking lot. One was hit in the leg and the other in the arm, just missing the face, according to the police statement.
The victims were treated by EMS and released at the scene.
Both victims described the same suspect vehicle and said it contained several male subjects.

Witnesses followed that suspect vehicle until officers caught up with it and they were stopped in the Dairy Queen parking lot at 12050 Texas Highway 64 East, according to the statement.
Three people were taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for each victim. Police said a blow dart gun and darts were found in the vehicle.
Suspects were identified as Matthew Arnold, 18; Kasey McClendon, 17; and Gregory Smith, 17, according to the statement.
