Stay In School, Jan. 29
I watched President Barack Obama’s State of the Union Address in which he proposed a uniform standard where all high-school students would be required (not just encouraged) by all 50 U.S. states to stay in school until they graduate or turn 18. I think it makes good common sense to raise the dropout age to age 18, plus provide enough funding to support those extra students and pay their teachers. The times are gone (with only a few rare exceptions) whereby a dropout can survive in today’s world. A high-school diploma is a sheer necessity.
