Late Entry Changes Contest Standings
There was a last-minute entry in the Tyler Paper’s 32nd Big Buck Contest’s Women’s Division.
Arriving just before the final bell, Pam Lott of Tyler has moved into second place with a 10-point McCulloch County buck scoring 120 3/8, knocking Kim Oldham of Flint from the standings. Tyler’s Marlo Bitter continues in first in the Women’s Division with a 9-point Llano County buck scoring 122 6/8.
Final standings will be announced next Sunday.
“My husband, Ron, and I had hunted all weekend. I hadn’t seen any bucks that I felt were big enough to shoot,” Lott said.
Her husband suggested rattling, and although she wasn’t big on the idea, they hadn’t seen any bucks and decided to give it a try. On the first try a big buck came up, but before Lott could get a shot the buck trotted off.
The second spot was successful as well. Her husband told her to shoot before it also got away.
