Three East Texans Get Federal Sentences
Three East Texans were sentenced in federal court on Thursday for violations ranging from drug trafficking to producing and transporting child pornography, according to a news release from the United States District Court, Eastern District of Texas.


Stephen Wayne Perritte
U.S. District Judge Leonard Davis sentenced Stephen Wayne Perritte, 67, of Henderson, to three years in federal prison for transporting obscene materials after he pleaded guilty to the charge on Sept. 2. Perritte also was ordered to pay a $10,000 fine and must register as a sex offender.

According to court documents, Perritte described sexual acts over the Internet to a person he believed to be a minor.


Enrique Estrada Quintana
Enrique Estrada Quintana, 30, of Henderson, received a 59-year sentence in federal prison on Thursday from Davis after he pleaded guilty to three counts of child pornography production on Sept. 9.

In February 2011, a search warrant was executed at Quintana's home in Henderson, according to information presented in court.

Authorities seized several computers, cameras and other forms of digital media. A forensic examination of the items revealed several thousand child pornography images and more than 10,000 videos of child pornography, the release stated. 

Quintana actually took about 100 pictures and 20 videos of three different minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, according to the release. 

Some of the images depicted children under the age of 12 engaging in sexually explicit conduct, and some of the images involved the commission of a sexual act, the release stated. 


Christopher Keith Browning
A 29-year-old Tyler man received a 10-year federal prison sentence on Thursday from David for drug trafficking in the Eastern District of Texas, according to a news release.

 Christopher Keith Browning pleaded guilty on Jan. 5, 2011, to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute crack cocaine and was sentenced to 120 months in federal prison by Davis. Browning also was ordered to submit to forfeiture of firearms and $28,000 in currency and a $10,000 judgment.

According to information presented in court, on Oct. 12, 2010, Browning and his co-defendants possessed marijuana, crack cocaine and methamphetamine with intentions to distribute the drugs in East Texas. Browning admitted to being solely responsible for the distribution of more than 500 grams of crack cocaine throughout East Texas. 

Co-defendants Calvin Browning received a five-year federal prison sentence on Nov. 7 and Latrice Whitaker received a 15-month sentence in federal prison on Jan. 10.
