Merle Jackson Dickson Perry
Funeral services for Merle Jackson Dickson Perry, 88, formerly of Tyler, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at New Hope United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brooks Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home.
Merle was born June 17, 1923, in Brownsboro to the late Earl Ansley and Velma Mae Debnam Jackson and passed away on Jan. 21, 2012. She was a devoted Christian, mother and grandmother. Merle was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and a former member of New Hope United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Guy Dickson and Aubrey Perry; two stepsons, Grover and Gary Dickson; two brothers, Tilmer and Ward Jackson; and a sister, Gladys Bell.

Merle is survived by her sons, Arlen Dickson and wife Jo of Horseshoe Bay, and Ron Dickson and wife Doris of Victoria; a brother, Chester Jackson and wife Wanda of Brownsboro; sisters, Joyce Mick and husband Larry of Bedford, and Jean Robertson and husband Billy Joe of Malakoff; five grandchildren, Kimberly Dickson, Melanie Main, Chad Dickson, Jennifer Zukauskas, Sara Dickson; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Jackson, Randy Cotton, Keith Robertson, Greg Jackson, Terry Moffett and Danny Jackson.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at the funeral home.
