UPDATE: All Power Restored After Morning Outages

Updated Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. CST
All power has been restored to area homes, according to Oncor officials.

Oncor crews addressed scattered power outages due to winds and rain this morning, said Oncor area manager Charles Hill.

Hill said a few hundred homes in Tyler were among more than 1,500 without power in East Texas from Athens, to Palestine and Jacksonville between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wind-blown trees are the cause for most of the outages, Hill said.

“With the rain and winds we’ve experienced this morning, it’s caused a lot of tree-related issues,” he said.

Hill said scattered outages may continue with more rain and gusty winds in the forecast throughout the evening. He said utility crews have moved to the Lufkin area to address similar outages.
