Teen Pact trains young people, ages 8 to 19, to understand the political process, to value liberty, to defend the Christian faith, and to engage the culture at a time in their life when, typically, they are not interested in such things, the release said.

Baber will share accounts of the impact of Teen Pact Leadership schools.

Lunches are available for purchase or attendees may bring their own.

Grassroots America – We the People
Grassroots America – We the People Executive Director JoAnn Fleming will be the keynote speaker at the 11:30 a.m. Tuesday Navarro County Republican Women’s Club meeting at the Navarro Republican Headquarters, 111-B W. Third Ave. in Corsicana.

The topic is titled “Primary Voter Alert: The Texas Budget Boondoggle and Illegal Immigration.”

At 6 p.m. Thursday, Mrs. Fleming will be a featured speaker and make the presentation at the Bowie County Patriots meeting, at Smokey Joe’s Restaurant in Nash, near Texarkana.

League of Women Voters
The Tyler League of Women Voters will hold a public meeting to explain state voter identification laws, which were passed during the 82nd Legislative session at 7 p.m. Jan. 30.

The event will be held in the Genecov Room of the Tyler Chamber of Commerce.

Information about new regulations and plans to organize and solve problems that might deter voters from casting ballots will be discussed.

The approved voter ID law is being challenged in federal courts. It would require prospective voters to show a valid driver’s license, naturalization certificates or a U.S. passport before voting.

Endorsement
State Rep. Chuck Hopson, R-Jacksonville, received the endorsement and an “A-plus” rating from the National Rifle Association in his re-election campaign for House District 11.

“As a strong conservative and a longtime concealed handgun license holder, I have always fought to protect our rights under the Second Amendment,” Hopson said. “It’s a true honor to have the support and trust of such an important organization as the NRA.”
