Gold Bar Grass Treasure In Garden
By DEE BISHOP

“Gold Bar” grass was planted more than a year ago in our Sunshine Garden, and it has stolen the show ever since. Even in the horrid heat of this summer, it stood erect and beautiful. This is the very best zebra grass yet. The old ones flopped so badly and had very few of the yellow horizontal stripes.

Gold Bar is magnificent with its numerous golden horizontal stripes, truly a lovely “Zebra.”
Plant “Gold Bar” in full all-day sun for best color and appearance. Like other miscanthus grasses, it needs good, well-drained soil and eventually a 4-inch space. This grass grows relatively slowly, but will eventually reach 3-4-feet tall and as broad. Plant it in front of dark green or purple foliage and watch it pop. Water regularly; like most grasses, it will take some drought, once established.
