Texas Equestrian Gala Set Saturday
Azleway, a faith-based nonprofit foster care organization, will hold its third annual Texas Equestrian Gala on Saturday at the Texas Rose Horse Park in Smith County.

“Everything we raise goes to Azleway programs, which are a worthy cause,” event chairperson Susan Stuart said in a news release. “Our children are our future and this way, we can ensure that the funds are available to help more than a thousand Texas children in crisis through these programs.”

The Oct. 15 gala includes a wine and artisan cheese tasting with offerings from several Texas wineries, along with a Cupcake Sweepstakes. Among silent auction items are jewelry, hotel retreats and artwork, while the main live auction features a miniature horse donated by Texas Angels Miniatures of Tyler.

A Grand Prix Show Jump horse event will be a new event this year. Also new to the fundraiser is the first annual Dream Room Makeover drawing benefit. The winner of this year’s Dream Room benefit drawing receives a complete room renovation, with paint for one room from Sherwin Williams and labor from Custom Paint and Remodel, a $1,000 shopping spree and 90-minute design consult from Larry Lott Interiors, $1,000 of installed flooring from Southwest Floor Carpet One Floor and Home and $500 in lighting from Hagen’s Lighting.
