New Exhibit At Gallery Main Street On Thursday
A multi-media, two-person art exhibit goes on display Thursday at Gallery Main Street.

“Connections” opens with a reception 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the gallery, 110 W. Erwin St., featuring the work of award-winning artists Abhidnya Ghuge and Briana Sutton.

“This exhibit will feature art ranging from paintings to multi-dimensional pieces made from very interesting raw materials,” Tyler Main Street director Beverly Abell said.

Ms. Ghuge's work has appeared in numerous exhibits, featuring materials not immediately associated with fine art.

“My art is about transforming a lowly disposable everyday object, like the paper plate, into a precious one,” she said. “A paper plate is made to be disposed of, much like our birth ends in death. What we do with our lives is what brings meaning to it.”

Ms. Sutton is another art show veteran.

“My work is about the interconnectivity between all things,” she said. “It is inspired by the relationship I have with nature and my surroundings. I use webbing forms and layers to create depth and an atmosphere for my viewers to explore.”

The reception and exhibit are free and open to the public.

Gallery Main Street is a collaboration of the city of Tyler's Main Street Department and the Downtown Tyler Arts Coalition, a group of volunteer artists, instructors and patrons.
