Texas East Gymnastics Adds 2 More All-Around Titles

Tyler put the finishing touches on another successful Rose City Gymnastics Classic Sunday with sessions featuring Level 5-7 at UT Tyler's Herrington Patriot Center.
Texas East Gymnastics added two more all-around winners as Nadia Sukiennik took top honors in Level 7 Jr. C and Allison Conflitti won Level 6 Jr.
"It's been great; it was a little smaller than in years before and it made it a little nicer for the home people running it," said Martin Parsley, meet director and TEG head coach.
"We still had good quality competition with WOGA, Texas Dreams, Eagles Wings, Richardson, and everyone else showing up here and competing from Texas and Louisiana. It's been a good time."
The meet began Friday with the lower level experienced competitors with the most experienced taking center stage on Saturday in what Parsley called "The Main Event." The meet featured Level 8-10 and saw five TEG gymnasts win all-around titles for their division.
"It was fun to watch the high-level girls have good meet and be able to enjoy the meet with all of their buddies," Parsley said. "The goal is to be competing in May (at the highest level) and there are still a lot of lessons for them to learn.
"Being in your hometown gives you an opportunity to be a little more relaxed and (they took advantage)."
During Sunday's morning session, featuring only Level 7 gymnasts, Sukiennik scored 9.3 or better on all four events. She took third in vault with a 9.3 and was second in floor exercise (9.3) and uneven bars (9.4). She won the balanced beam with a 9.5, which helped her total 37.550 overall. Ashleigh Lindquist of U.S. Gold (Roanoke) was second with 36.575.
Also competing in Level 7's for TEG was Claire Bradshaw, who totaled 35.250 in her all-around score to finish fifth overall in Level 7 Jr. D.
In the afternoon, Level 5-6 gymnasts competed in the final session. Texas East had 18 gymnasts, 13 of them in Level 6.
Conflitti totaled 36.675 to win all-around in Level 7 Jr. Kathryn Desiree Fendlee of Gym Power House (Paris) was second with 36.475.
Sydney Creath finished third in Level 5 Sr. A in all-around with 36.075. Kacey Middlekoop (37.125) and McKenzie Proctor (36.575) from Richardson finished first and second, respectively.
Julia Conflitti finished tied for second in Level 5 Jr. B with 35.950. Camryn Sensley of Gymnastics Ect. (Sulphur, La.) won with 36.275 with Camille Broudy of Jill's Gymnastics (Shreveport, La.) also in second.
"My kids (competing today) are kind of in a transition with some of the girls trying new levels and other are finishing the last time at the old level," Parsley said. "It's kind of an interesting time and it's been fun to watch."
