Winter Gala Benefiting Rose Festival Set Tonight
The 19th annual Winter Gala, benefiting the Tyler Rose Museum, is scheduled for tonight at the museum, Texas Rose Festival Association Executive Director Julie Kidwell said.

The event will feature the announcement of the 2011 rose queen, duchess of the Texas Rose Festival and ladies-in-waiting by the TRF President Tom Ramey III.

The black-tie event will begin at 7 p.m. with cocktails and a tour of the Rose Museum. The presentation of the 2011 court will begin at 8 p.m. The seated dinner and bar service will be catered by Rick’s on the Square, and music will be provided by the Take 2 Band. Complimentary valet parking by Tyler Valet Services will be available, Ms. Kidwell said.

Tickets are $125 per person and reservations are limited. For ticket information, call 903-597-3130, Ext. 10, or e-mail info@texasrosefestival.com.

Chairman of the 2011 Winter Gala is Brandy Carlisle Sawyer.

The Winter Gala is the annual fundraiser for the Tyler Rose Museum, a nonprofit organization built solely with private donations.

Since opening in 1992, the museum has entertained more than 300,000 visitors, Ms. Kidwell said.
The 78th Texas Rose Festival is scheduled for Oct. 13-15.
