Parents Anonymous of Tyler needs volunteers to help strengthen families by facilitating 12-week classes provided to parents and teens. Parenting classes help parents learn to be effective and to alleviate problems in the home. Facilitators also are needed to work with teens to end disruptive behaviors and to change the direction of their lives. Volunteer training is required and an on-site staff person supports volunteers. The Trinity Mother Frances Heart Hospital is looking for volunteers for the family waiting room, reception desk and patient visitation. Bring your people skills and willingness to help people to the Heart Hospital once a week for four hours. It will be the best four hours of your week. Schedule an interview today. East Texas Crisis Center is a nonprofit charitable organization, providing safety, shelter and education to victims of family violence, sexual assault and other violent crimes. ETCC helps clients to restore dignity and purpose in their lives, while promoting public compassion and awareness to reduce violence in the community. Many opportunities are available to volunteers, who desire to help end the cycle of violence by donating their time and talents. Volunteer training begins Sept. 21 at East Texas Crisis Center. Classes are filling up very fast.
The ETCC accepts donations of unused cell phones. Items currently needed are alarm clocks, scrubs, ladies and children's underwear and socks.

Northeast Texas Public Health District Medical Reserve Corps needs practicing and retired physicians, nurses and other health professionals, as well as other citizens, who are interested in health issues, and eager to volunteer to address their community's ongoing public health needs.
