The city of Tyler received a $25,000 donation from AT&T today to begin an arts program for children in downtown Tyler.

Candice Gast, director of external affairs for AT&T announced the donation to support the efforts of the Gallery Main Street, where more than 50 people gathered this afternoon to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Gallery Main Street and the 20th anniversary since Tyler received a Main Street Program designation.

“Thanks AT&T for your donation, said Ingrid Young, president of Heart of Tyler. “It’s going to boost our efforts tremendously.”

Sen. Kevin Eltife, Tyler Mayor Barbara Bass and Tyler Main Street Director Beverly Abell also spoke at the event.
