3 Arrested, Charged In Home Invasion
Tyler police have arrested three of four suspects in a home invasion on Garden Valley Road that occurred late in the day July 19.
According to Tyler Police Public Information Officer Donald Martin, a CrimeStoppers tip led to the arrests of Cortnie Hubbard, 23; Brandon Caddell, 27; and Kentrell Jennings, 19, all of Tyler. All three were charged with aggravated robbery (meaning a firearm was used). Hubbard faces additional charges of possessing cocaine and criminal trespassing.
Investigators learned that Hubbard was shot once in the left arm when gunfire erupted during the robbery. Hubbard did not seek medical treatment for his gunshot wound.
A fourth suspect, believed to have driven the getaway car, has been identified as Mandisa Jones, 18, of Tyler, also wanted for aggravated robbery. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact Tyler Police or CrimeStoppers.
Officers responded to 3312 Garden Valley Road at 11:30 p.m. on July 19 on reports of shots being fired. The residents told police a female resident answered a knock at the door and upon opening it, one of three males at the door began to raise a gun and attempt to come into the house.
Due to the late hour, a male resident had retrieved his own hand gun and upon observing the situation, immediately kicked the door into one of the suspects, police said. Shots were exchanged between the suspects and the male resident, resulting in a minor gunshot wound to the female resident, along with the injury to Hubbard. The three left the scene in a vehicle believed to have been driven by Ms. Jones.
Investigators are looking into a series of similar recent robberies to see if these suspects are involved in any way, Martin said.
