Gunfire Exchange Results In 'Minor' Injury To Woman
Tyler police are investigating a possible home invasion that occurred late Monday night at 3312 Garden Valley Drive, resulting in a woman residing there suffering what police call a "minor" gunshot wound.
Upon arrival at around 11:30 p.m., officers contacted the residents who advised that three men had knocked on their front door. A female resident answered the door and upon opening it, one of the men began to raise a gun and attempt to come into the house. A male resident, due to the late hour had retrieved his own handgun and upon observing the situation, immediately kicked the door into one of the suspects, police said.
Shots were exchanged between the suspects and the male resident, with the female resident being hit in the exchange. The
suspects left the area in a four-door passenger car. Investigators were called to the scene and the case remains under investigation, police said.
