By KELLY GOOCH
Staff Writer
Lindale High School was evacuated for approximately 10 minutes this morning after a student apparently sent a text message that referenced a bomb in the gym area of campus, Deputy Superintendent Jamie Holder said.
He said the evacuation took place about 9:40 a.m. and police were called to the school as a precautionary measure.
Officers quickly determined it was a hoax and the student admitted it was a hoax, Holder said.
The student is in custody and will be prosecuted, officials said.
Holder said students are back in class and the day has returned to a normal schedule.
