Gallery Main Street To Hold Reception Thursday
A Thursday night reception at Tyler's Gallery Main Street will unveil a new art exhibit made up of 17 paintings and six sculptures and carvings.

More than 50 pieces of artwork were submitted in the juried art show. "Four Seasons," the third gallery exhibit, will officially open with the reception from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gallery Main Street, at 110 W. Erwin St.

Tyler Main Street director Beverly Abell said the more than 50 submissions made the "selection process quite difficult for our fine arts jury."

Gallery Main Street op-ened in August with a solo exhibit by watercolorist Paul Jackson and "Shades of East Texas" was the first juried art show. "Four Seasons," which will be exhibited through Feb. 13, will be followed by two juried shows: "Melting Pot: Crossing Cultural Divides" and "Musical Visions."

For more information regarding submission of art for shows, visit www.downtowntylerart s.com, or call 903-593-6905. Gallery Main Street is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

There is no admission fee and displayed artwork is generally for sale.
