Year's #7 Most-Read Story: Motorcyclist Killed In Thursday Accident

Motorcyclist Killed In Thursday Accident

A motorcyclist was killed and the driver of a car was injured in an accident on Thursday in Tyler.
The collision occurred about 6 p.m. on Texas Highway 64 East at Spur 248, according to a report by the Department of Public Safety.
David Pritchard, 48, Bullard, pulled into the path of car driven by Patricia Austin, 45, Tyler, the report said.
Pritchard, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle. He died at East Texas Medical Center.
Ms. Austin was hospitalized with injuries suffered in the accident, the report said.

Unlicensed Pilot Steals, Crashes Plane

An unlicensed pilot allegedly stole, flew and crashed a private single-engine propeller aircraft from the Athens, Texas Municipal Airport on the morning of March 4. Athens Police Detective Don Yarbrough provides the details.
