Whitehouse, Lufkin Players To Participate In U.S. Army National Combine
Whitehouse's Quincy Aldridge and Lufkin's Darrell Thomas-Kelly have been selected to participate in the U.S. Army National Combine, joining an elite group of the nation's top underclassmen football players.

The combine will take place Jan. 7-9 in San Antonio as part of the festivities leading up to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 9 at the Alamodome.

According to a news release, "The three-day event, held annually in association with the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, is the first opportunity for the nation's top underclassmen to demonstrate their physical talent and compete against one another amongst high school and college football's top scouting organizations, as well as the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Selection Committee."

Modeled after the NFL combine, U.S. Army National Combine alumni include Ted Ginn Jr. (Miami Dolphins), Donte Whitner (Buffalo Bills), Jamaal Charles (Kansas City Chiefs), Tim Tebow (Florida), Colt McCoy (Texas), Matt Stafford (Detroit Lions), Tom Zbikowski (Baltimore Ravens), Myron Rolle (Florida State, Rhodes scholar), Derrick Williams (Detroit Lions) and Armondo Allen (Notre Dame).

Earlier this week, Cayuga senior running back Traylon Shead was selected to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and will be a member of the West squad.
