East Texas Drilling Report
DEVELOPMENTAL
XTO Energy will drill the Chronister Heirs Well No. 20, No. 23 and No. 25 to 12,800 feet in the Doyle Creek (Travis Peak) Field in the John Durst Survey, A-15. The No. 20 is 4.3 miles north of Wells and the No. 23 is 4.1 miles northeast of Wells. The No. 25 is four miles north of Wells These wells may also be drilled in the Doyle Creek (Pettit) Field.
XTO Energy will drill the Wilburn Well No. 13 and the Cagle Gas Unit Well No. 30 in the Freestone (Cotton Valley-Bossier Consolidated) Field. The No. 13 is 5.5 miles southeast of Teague in the J.P. Moffit Survey, A-421. The No. 30 is six miles north of Donie in the G. Luna Survey, A-18. Both wells will hit 13,000 feet.
Tanos Exploration will drill the Clements Gas Unit No. 3 Well No. 1H to 10,700 feet three miles east of Longview in the North Lansing (Cotton Valley, Lower) Field. It is in the D. Hill Survey, A-301.
BRG Lone Star will drill the Ericson Gas Unit Well No. 3 in the Bear Grass (Travis Peak) Field. This well will hit 10,500 feet 3.1 miles northwest of Jewett in the W.F. Gray Survey, A-296. This well may also be drilled in the Branton (Rodessa) Field, the Bear Grass (Pettit) Field or a wildcat field.
Valence Operating will drill the Cargill Well No. 1 to 15,000 feet 8.8 miles east of Nacogdoches in the J. Cordova & Bros. Survey, A-20. The well may also be drilled in the Southeast and Northeast Martinsville, Northeast (Cotton Valley) Field, the East Nacogdoches, (Pettit) Field or the Martinsville (Travis Peak) Field.
The Corsicana (Shallow) Field will see the Aztec-Jackson Well No. 15 drilled to 2,700 feet 5.1 miles southwest of Kerens by Resaca Resources. It is in the R.C. Dooms Survey, A-240.
Anadarko E&P will drill the CGU 22 Well No. 21 to 12,000 feet 5.1 miles northwest of Carthage in the Carthage (Cotton Valley) Field. It is in the W. Liddy Survey, A-398.
Comstock Oil & Gas will drill the Nelson "H" Well No. 1H to 11,600 feet 5.1 miles north of Tatum in the North Carthage (Bossier Shale) Field. It is in the J.S. Koyle Survey, A-379.
Anadarko E&P will drill the South Gary Gas Unit 2 Well No. 5H to 12,000 feet 1.7 miles southwest of Gary in the Carthage (Cotton Valley) Field. It is in the S. Hanks Survey, A-333.
Sandridge Onshore will drill the Spikes Gas Unit No. 1 Well No. 24 to 14,000 feet 5.1 miles southeast of Henderson in the S.R. Peck Survey, A-620 in the Minden (Travis Peak Consolidated) Field. It may be drilled in the Minden (Cotton Valley Consolidated) Field.
The King Gas Unit Well No. 1H will be drilled by Cabot Oil & Gas to 5,000 feet 5.6 miles northwest of San Augustine in the J. Dodd Survey, A-349.
EnCana Oil & Gas will drill the Black Stone Unit A-43 Well No. 1H to 15,000 feet in a wildcat field 12.1 miles southwest of San Augustine in the A. Spear Survey, A-43.
Marathon Oil will drill the Martinsville Well No. 1H to 17,500 feet in a lease 15.2 miles southwest of Center in the P.M. Polvadore Survey, A-965.
COMPLETION
Chesapeake Operating completed the Auld Well No. 1H to 13,462 feet 16.9 miles northwest of Waxahachie in the East Newark Field. On a 0.75-inch choke the well potentialed 7.693 million cubic feet of gas in the Barnett Shale.
XTO Energy completed three wells in the Teague Field.
The Cosson Gas Unit Well No. 16 hit 11,859 feet 4.3 miles southeast of Teague and potentialed 664,000 cubic feet of gas on a 24/64-inch choke.
The Henderson Gas Unit Well No. 24 hit 11,963 feet 4.7 miles southeast of Teague and potentialed 1.091 million cubic feet of gas on a 22/64-inch choke.
The Henderson Gas Unit Well No. 30 hit 12,355 feet five miles southeast of Teague and potentialed 1.743 million cubic feet of gas on a 14/64-inch choke. Production is in the Cotton Valley-Bossier Consolidated.
XTO Energy completed the Eppes Unit Well No. 4 to 14,446 feet 1.1 miles southeast of Donie in the Bear Grass Field. The well potentialed 1.443 million cubic feet of gas on a 10/64-inch choke. Production is in the Cotton Valley Consolidated.
XTO Energy completed three wells.
The H.D. Black Gas Unit Well No. 7 and Cosson Gas Unit Well No. 17 have been completed in the Teague Field. The No. 7hit 12,400 feet 1.5 miles southeast of Teague and potentialed 962,000 cubic feet of gas on a 18/64-inch choke.

The Knight "A" II Gas Unit Well No. 8 hit 13,190 feet five miles from Teague in the Freestone Field. This well potentialed 1.104 million cubic feet of gas on a 48/64-inch choke. Production is in the Cotton Valley-Bossier Consolidated.
The Blocker Heirs Well No. 12H and the Blocker Heirs Well No. 19H have been completed by GMX Resources in the North Carthage Field.
The No. 12H hit 16,450 feet 7.5 miles southeast of Marshall. On a 12/64-inch choke the well potentialed 7.520 million cubic feet of gas.
The No. 19H hit 15,900 feet 10 miles southeast of Marshall. On a 15/64-inch choke the well potentialed 6.804 million cubic feet of gas. Production is in the Bossier Shale.
The Farrar Field has seen XTO Energy complete the Standley Gas Unit No. 1 Well No. 9 to 12,588 feet 6.2 miles southwest of Donie. On a 48/64-inch choke the well potentialed 519,000 cubic feet of gas in the Cotton Valley Lime.
Forest Oil completed the Ivory Acq. Well No. 2 to 11,012 feet 2.5 miles northwest of Karnack in the North Carthage Field. This well potentialed 544,000 cubic feet of gas on a 28/64-inch choke. Production is in the Bossier Shale.
Fossil Resources completed the Rangers Gas Unit Well No. 1 and Mets Gas Unit Well No. 1 in the Martinsville Field.
The Rangers Gas Unit Well No. 1 hit 10,450 feet 2.9 miles southwest of Martinsville and potentialed 1.667 million cubic feet of gas on a 20/64-inch choke.
The Mets Gas Unit Well No. 1 hit 10,600 feet 2.3 miles southwest of Martinsville and potentialed 1.314 million cubic feet of gas on a 28/64-inch choke. Production is in the Travis Peak.
EOG Resources completed the Gammage Well No. 1 to 13,284 feet in a lease two miles northeast of Attoyac in the North Carthage Field. The well potentialed 10.352 million cubic feet of gas on a 18/64-inch choke. Production is in the Bossier Shale.
El Paso E&P Company completed the Hunt Oil Co. Well No. 1-H to 15,460 feet 12.3 miles northeast of Carthage in the East Carthage Field. On a 20/64-inch choke the well potentialed 9.875 million cubic feet of gas in the Bossier.
Devon Energy has completed the Werner Sawmill Well No. 1T to 6,575 feet 12.5 miles southwest of DeBerry in the Carthage Field. On an adjustable choke the well potentialed 28,000 cubic feet of gas in the Travis Peak 6310.
The Bald Prairie Field has seen the Hicks Gas Unit Well No. 2 and the R. Sullivan Gas Unit Well No. 6 completed by XTO Energy Inc.
The No. 2 hit 13,690 feet 4.7 miles northwest of Franklin and potentialed 679,000 cubic feet of gas on a 24/64-inch choke.
The No. 6 hit 15,155 feet 1.4 miles north of Franklin and potentialed 1.028 million cubic feet of gas on a 30/64-inch choke. Production is in the Cotton Valley Consolidated.
Chinn Exploration completed the Benton Young Well No. 1 to 10,887 feet 2.8 miles southwest of Henderson in the Minden Field. On a 12/64-inch choke the well potentialed 649,000 cubic feet of gas in the Cotton Valley Consolidated.
Devon Energy completed the S. Kardell GU Well No. 1H is to 18,350 feet 1.5 miles east of San Augustine in the Bossierville Field. On an adjustable choke the well potentialed 30.711 million cubic feet of gas in the Bossier Shale.
Maximus Operating completed the Bettye Cox Bettye Well No. 1 to 8,745 feet 2.5 miles southeast of Paxton in the Carthage Field. On a 16/64-inch choke the well potentialed 18,000 cubic feet of gas in the Travis Peak.
Chesapeake Operating completed the Harvey Well No. 1H to 11,331 feet 8.5 miles northeast of Center in a wildcat field. On a 28/64-inch choke the well potentialed 3.162 million cubic feet of gas.
EOG Resources completed the Watkins Well No. 1to 14,900 feet 5.7 miles northeast of Center in the North Carthage Field. On a 24/64-inch choke the well potentialed 3.550 million cubic feet of gas in the Bossier Shale.
