Officials are not releasing the names of the victims, pending notification of family members.
Lt. Jerry Blaylock, with the Wood County Sheriff's Office, said a 911 call came in about 12:30 a.m. in reference to a domestic violence situation at the Holiday Villages Resort, a gated mobile home community on Texas Highway 154.

When the first officer arrived at the scene, he said he found three dead bodies and six people were in a back bedroom.
It was determined that “a gentleman was distraught over a pending divorce between he and his wife. He entered her residence and she dialed 911 and he started firing, taking the life of her mother and another (unrelated) gentleman in the residence,” Blaylock said.

He said nine people were in the residence at the time, including the shooter's wife and four people who had flown in from California for the holidays, but no one else was injured.
The alleged shooter, most likely in his late 40s, had been married to his wife for approximately six years and had just moved to the area.

“There had already been some altercations apparently in the past between the two of them,” Blaylock said.
Although the two do not have any children together, he said the shooter does have a daughter in the Air Force. His wife also has a son who's serving in the Army in Kuwait.
Blaylock said the bodies were sent to a medical examiner in Dallas for autopsies.
Saturday marked the first such double homicide for the sheriff's office this year.
Typically, Blaylock said, assault calls and domestic disturbance calls increase during the holidays, especially with an uncertain economy.
