East Texas Drilling Report

DEVELOPMENTAL
  • Cherokee County

    XTO Energy will drill the Chronister Heirs Well No. 21 and the Chronister Heirs Well No. 7 in the Doyle Creek (Travis Peak) Field.

  • The No. 21 will hit 12,700 feet 4.7 miles northeast of Wells. The No. 7 will hit 12,800 feet 4.5 miles north of Wells. These wells will be drilled in the J. Durst Survey, A-15 and may be drilled in the Doyle Creek (Pettit) Field.

  • Ellis County

    Range Production will drill the Briton Unit Well No. 2H to 9,000 feet .6 miles southwest of Britton. It is in the East Newark (Barnett Shale) Field in the H. Henderson Survey, A-432.

  • Freestone County

    XTO Energy will drill the W.A. Keils Gas Unit Well No. 7 to 13,200 feet 2.8 miles south of Teague in the Teague (Cotton Valley-Bossier Consolidated) Field. It is in the M. Casillas Survey, A-167.

  • Gregg County

    The North Lansing (Lower Cotton Valley) Field will see the Henderson Gas Unit No. 1 Well No. 2H drilled by Tanos Exploration. The well will hit 10,800 feet three miles northeast of Longview in the D. Hill Survey, A-93 and may be drilled in the North Lansing (Travis Peak) or the Alpine (Pettit) Fields.

  • Johnson County

    Chesapeake Operating will drill the Burleson Lakes Well No. 2H to 9,000 feet 11.2 miles north of Cleburne in the East Newark (Barnett Shale) Field. It is in the H.G. Catlett Survey, A-179.

  • XTO Energy will drill the Shaded Lane Unit Well No. 4H to 11,000 feet and the Wilkinson Unit Well No. 4H to 10,000 feet in the East Newark (Barnett Shale) Field. The Shaded Lane is 7.1 miles southwest of Mansfield in the J.B. Littlepage Survey, A-523. The Wilkinson is 3.7 miles northeast of Alvarado in the E. Hendricks Survey, A-328.

    The East Newark (Barnett Shale) Field will see Devon Energy drill the Mary Ross Wells No. 3H, No. 4H, No. 5H and No. 7H to 9,000 feet 1.3 miles northeast of Burleson in the A. Lee Survey, A-496.

    EOG Resources will drill the Lake Alvarado Unit Well No. 7H in the East Newark (Barnett Shale) Field to 8,900 feet in the T. Matty Survey, A-538 3.3 miles southwest of Alvarado.

    Devon Energy will drill the W.G. Jackson Well No. 2H and Jackson 3H and the Ann Bjork Well No. 1H to 9,000 feet in the East Newark (Barnett Shale) Field. The No. 2H and No. 3H are 9.1 miles northeast of Cleburne in the W.G. Jackson Survey, A-462. The No. 1H is 6.9 miles northeast of Cleburne in the J.B. Brown Survey, A-22.

  • Navarro County

    Resaca Resources will drill the Aztec-Tatum Well No. 1 to 1,300 feet 5.2 miles southwest of Kerens in the Corsicana (Shallow) Field. It is in the I.C. Holt Survey, A-362.

  • Panola County

    Devon Energy will drill the H.R. Fenders Well No. 26 to 12,500 feet 5.3 miles southwest of Carthage in the Carthage (Cotton Valley) Field. It is in the I. Hanks Survey, A-271.

  • Patara Oil & Gas will drill three wells in the Beckville (Cotton Valley) Field.

    The Dobbins GU Well No. 3 will hit 10,250 feet 12.6 miles northwest of Carthage in the J.N. Golden Survey, A-237. This well may be drilled in the West Beckville (Travis Peak, Cotton Valley) Fields, the Carthage (Travis Peak, Cotton Valley, Lower Pettit) Fields, a wildcat field, or the Beckville (Travis Peak) Field.

    The Taylor Heirs Well No. 6 and the Taylor Heirs Well No. 7 will hit 10,250 feet 12.6 miles southwest of Carthage in the P. Williams A-724. They may be drilled in the Fairplay, Northeast (Travis Peak) Field, the Beckville (Pettit 6800, Travis Peak) Fields, the Itex (Pettet and Travis Peak) Fields, the Minden (Cotton Valley Consolidated) Field, the Carthage (Cotton Valley, Lower Pettit) Fields.

    NFR Energy will drill the Hemby Well No. 4H to 12,500 feet 1.6 miles northeast of Tatum in the North Carthage (Bossier Shale) Field in the J. Reel Survey, A-564.

    ConocoPhillips will drill the Pitts A Unit Well No. 17 to 10,100 feet 8.9 miles southeast of Carthage in the Carthage (Cotton Valley) Field. It is in the T. Kelly Survey, A-372.

    Anadarko E&P will drill the H.B. Frost Unit Well No. 3 to 11,000 feet in a lease 8.9 miles southeast of Carthage, in the Carthage (Cotton Valley) Field. The well is in the W.H. Mitchell Survey, A-503.

    Lacy Operations will drill the Burnett Unit 7 Well No. 27 to 10,400 feet 7.8 miles north of Carthage in the Carthage (Cotton Valley) Field. It is in the W. Hill Survey, A-340.

    American Resources will drill the Glovier Hamilton Unit Well No. 20 to 10,800 feet three miles northwest of Beckville in the Beckville (Cotton Valley) Field. It is in the W. Gooden Survey, A-221.

    Chesapeake will drill the Crump Gas Unit Well No. 1H to 17,000 feet .7 miles southeast of DeBerry in the North Carthage (Bossier Shale) Field. It is in the W.A. Prefsly Survey, A-556.

  • Robertson County

    XTO Energy will drill the Wiese Gas Unit Well No. 1 to 14,600 feet 3.2 miles southeast of Calvert in the Bald Prairie (Cotton Valley Consolidated) Field. It is in the D. James Survey, A-203.

  • EnCana Oil & Gas will drill the Hoyt Unit Well No. 1 to 20,000 feet seven miles northeast of Franklin in a wildcat field in the S. Tryon Survey, A-350.

  • Sabine County

    Lacy Operations will drill the USA Com Well No. 1H to 10,400 feet three miles northeast of Six Mile in the Hemphill (Saratoga-Annona) Field. It is in the E. Lowe Survey, A-34 and may be drilled in a wildcat field.

  • Shelby County

    Cabot Oil & Gas will drill the Gilchrist (Pettet) Well No. 1 to 10,000 feet 10.4 miles southwest of Center in the Angie (Pettet) Field. This well is in the N.L. Gilchrist Survey, A-1079.

  • Longbranch Energy will drill the Aiken Saltwater Disposal Well No. 1 Well to 7,000 feet in a lease one mile southwest of Aiken, in the Coney (Rodessa) Field. This well is in the Mrs. M. Emmons Survey, A-200.

    Devon Energy will drill the Adams Well No. 1 H to 18,000 feet in the North Carthage (Bossier Shale) Field. It is in the N. Howell Survey, A-273.

  • Tarrant County

    The Rush Creek Well No. 1H and the Edgecliff D Well No. 1H will be drilled within city limits of Arlington in the East Newark (Barnett Shale) Field. Chesapeake will drill these wells to a depth of 9,000 feet. The Rush Creek Well No. 1H is in the J. Beall Survey, A-163 and the D. Edgecliff Well No. 1H is in the J. Asbury Survey, A-47.

  • Halliburton Energy will drill the Test Wells Exhibit Well No. H1 and H5 to 2,072 feet in a wildcat field two miles southeast of Fort Worth in the J. Teague Survey, A-1546.


    COMPLETION
  • Cherokee County

    XTO Energy completed the Sessions Gas Unit Well No. 1 to 12,200 feet 3.4 miles southeast of Alto in the Alto Field. On a 16/64-inch choke the well potentialed 1.163 million cubic feet of gas in the Travis Peak.

  • Dallas County

    Chesapeake completed the Fellowship Well No. 1H to 11,497 feet 22 miles northeast of Fort Worth. On a 1-inch choke the well potentialed 7.115 million cubic feet of gas in the Barnett Shale.

  • Freestone County

    XTO Energy completed the Henderson Gas Unit Well No. 22 and the Clarke Gas Unit Well No. 29 in the Teague Field.

  • The No. 22 hit 11,936 feet five miles southeast of Teague and potentialed 343,000 cubic feet of gas on a 16/64-inch choke.

    The No. 29 hit 12,375 feet 5.8 miles east of Teague and potentialed 1.076 million cubic feet of gas on a 48/64-inch choke. Production is in the Cotton Valley-Bossier Consolidated.

    XTO Energy completed the J.A. Gilliam Gas Unit II Well No. 14 to 12,477 feet 6.3 miles southwest of Teague. The well potentialed 1.161 million cubic feet of gas on a 48/64-inch choke in the Cotton Valley-Bossier Consolidated.

  • Harrison County

    NFR Energy completed the Miller Well No. 2H to 14,714 feet two miles southwest of Hallsville in the North Carthage Field. This well potentialed 4.824 million cubic feet of gas on a 32/64-inch choke. Production is in the Bossier Shale.

  • GMX Resources completed the Verhalen "B" Well No. 1H to 16,659 feet eight miles southeast of Marshall in the North Carthage Field. On a 23/64-inch choke the well potentialed 8.190 million cubic feet of gas in the Bossier Shale.

  • Henderson County

    A wildcat field has seen the John Wall Well No. 1 completed by Kraker and Martin Energy. This well hit 10,879 feet eight miles southeast of Brownsboro. On an adjustable choke, the well flowed with 30 barrels of crude in the Pettet.

  • Johnson County

    Chesapeake completed the Mize Family Well No. 33H and the Cooper Well No. 13H in the East Newark Field.

  • The Mize hit 10,166 feet 6.5 miles northwest of Cleburne and potentialed 1.986 million cubic feet of gas on a 1-inch choke.

    The Cooper hit 13,043 feet 5.7 miles northwest of Cleburne and potentialed 2.961 million cubic feet of gas on a 1-inch choke. Production is in the Barnett Shale.

    EOG Resources completed four wells in the East Newark (Barnett Shale) Field.

    The Walking T Ranch Well No. 20H hit 11,764 feet 5.2 miles northeast of Lillian and potentialed 5.484 million cubic feet of gas on a 64/64-inch choke.

    The Walking T Ranch Well No. 21H hit 11,654 feet 5.6 miles northeast of Lillian and potentialed 5.398 million cubic feet of gas on a 64/64-inch choke.

    The Walking T Ranch Well No. 22H hit 11,446 feet 5.6 miles northeast of Lillian and potentialed 5.264 million cubic feet of gas on a 64/64-inch choke.

    The Walking T Ranch Well No. 23H hit 11,020 feet 5.6 miles northeast of Lillian and potentialed 4.219 million cubic feet of gas on a 64/64-inch choke. Production is in the Barnett Shale.

  • Limestone County

    XTO Energy completed the Jacoby-Harris Gas Unit No. 1 Well No. 12H to 17,206 feet 7.9 miles southwest of Donie in the Farrar Field. On a 19/64-inch choke the well potentialed 2.435 million cubic feet of gas in the Cotton Valley Lime.

  • Robertson County

    XTO Energy completed the Hancock Gas Unit Well No. 7 to 15,001 feet 1.3 miles southwest of Franklin in the Bald Prairie Field. On a 36/64-inch choke the well potentialed 7.189 million cubic feet of gas in the Cotton Valley Consolidated.

  • Shelby County

    Maximus Operating completed the Latimer Well No. 1 to 10,507 feet 5.9 miles southwest of Joaquin in the South Carthage Field. On a 48/64-inch choke the well potentialed 291,000 cubic feet of gas. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation.

  • BP America completed the BP Georgetown 885 Well No. 2 to 12,275 feet 9.8 miles southwest of Center in the Stockman Field. On an adjustable choke the well potentialed 4.374 million cubic feet of gas in the Cotton Valley.

  • Tarrant County

    XTO Energy completed five wells in the East Newark Field.

  • The Ledbetter Unit Well No. A 3H hit 10, 778 feet .7 miles southwest of Azle and potentialed 2.794 million cubic feet of gas on a 64/64-inch choke.

    The Ok Corral A Unit Well No. 2H hit 12.810 feet 3.3 miles southeast of Kennedale and potentialed 1.382 million cubic feet of gas on a 64/64-inch choke.

    The Schultz Walker Unit Well No. 2H hit 10,407 feet 3.9 miles northeast of Burleson and potentialed 2.798 million cubic feet of gas on a 12/64-inch choke.

    The Schultz Walker Unit Well No. 3H hit 10,180 feet 3.9 miles northeast of Burleson and potentialed 3.830 million cubic feet of gas on a 13/64-inch choke.

    The Horseshoe Hills Unit Well No. A 1H hit 9,522 feet four miles southeast of Azle and potentialed 908,000 cubic feet of gas on a 64/64-inch choke. Production is in the Barnett Shale.

    Chesapeake Operating completed the Indus North Well No. 6H and the Bell Well No. 8H in the East Newark Field.

    The No. 6H hit 10,717 feet within the city limits of Fort Worth and potentialed 2.618 million cubic feet of gas on a .75-inch choke.

    The No. 8H hit 11,143 feet within the city limits of Fort Worth and potentialed 2.614 million cubic feet of gas on a .75-inch choke. Production is in the Barnett Shale.

    Quicksilver Resources completed the Alliance Well No. L 3H and the Alliance Well No. L 5H in the East Newark Field one mile north of Haslet.

    The No. L 3H hit 7,254 feet and potentialed 1.074 million cubic feet of gas on an open choke.

    The No. L 5H hit 7,298 feet and potentialed 133,000 cubic feet of gas on an open choke. Production is in the Barnett Shale.
