Texas College Choir To Sing During UNCF Luncheon
The Texas College Concert Choir will perform today during the third annual United Negro College Fund (UNCF) North Texas Scholarship Luncheon in Dallas.
The event also includes remarks from local dignitaries and UNCF college presidents, according to a statement from Texas College. The keynote speaker will be U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Ronald Kirk, also a former Dallas mayor.
Net proceeds from the event will benefit the five UNCF member institutions in Texas, including Texas College and Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins.
The UNCF expects more than 500 people will attend the event.
Texas College President Dr. Dwight Fennell and his wife, Angelia, will accompany the choir to the event.
The Texas College Concert Choir is under the direction of William Mitchell and is made up of students from across the United States and abroad, according to the college.
