East Texas Drilling Report
DEVELOPMENTAL
XTO Energy will drill the Selma Hagen Gas Unit Well No. 5H to 16,000 feet 8.3 miles southeast of Fairfield in the W.A. Smith Survey, A-549. It is in the Dowdy Ranch (Cotton Valley) Field.
Penn Virginia Oil and Gas will drill the Timmins Gas Unit Well No. 3HR to 14,000 feet 3.6 miles west of Elysian Field in the North Carthage (Bossier Shale) Field. It is in the J. Findley Survey, A-247.
Exco Operating will drill the Walling Gas Unit Well No. 1H in the North Carthage (Bossier Shale) Field to 14,000 feet 2.6 miles north of Waskom in the J.C. Walling Survey, A-737. The well may be drilled in the Waskom (Haynesville) Field.
The East Newark (Barnett Shale) Field will see the Raintree Well No. 3H and the Kinnear Well No. 4H drilled to 9,000 feet by Chesapeake Operating.
The No. 3H is 14 miles northeast of Cleburne in the E. Hendricks Survey, A-328.
The No. 4H is nine miles north of Cleburne in the C. Chaney Survey, A-175.
Pierco Energy will drill the Boggs Well No. 2 to 650 feet 1.1 miles northwest of Lacy Lakeview in a wildcat field in the M. Moore Survey, A-28.
EOG Resources will drill the Willis Unit Well No. 1 to 11,200 feet 7.5 miles northeast of Nacogdoches in the J. Walling Survey, A-588. It is in the Martinsville (Travis Peak) Field.
Cheaspeake Operating will drill the Wiener Well No. 1H in a wildcat field to 7,000 feet 15.8 miles southeast of Carthage in the S.W. Mimms Survey, A-449. It may be drilled in the East Carthage (Bossier) Field or the North Carthage (Bossier Shale) Field.
Anadarko E&P will drill the Fred Kyle Gas Unit Well No. 17 and the CGU 21 Well No. 22 in the Carthage (Cotton Valley) Field to a depth of 12,000 feet.
The No. 17 is four miles southeast of Carthage in the M. Payne Survey, A-526.
The No. 22 is 5.5 miles northwest of Carthage in the W. Liddy Survey, A-398.
Southwestern Energy will drill the Timberstar-BP-Mills Well No. 2H to 7,800 feet in a lease 4.9 miles southeast of Aiken, in the Angie (James Lime) Field. It is in the HT&B RR Co./L.J. Mills Survey, A-574.
XTO Energy will drill the Roadrunners DU Well No. 1HR to 14,000 feet 8.4 miles southeast of Center in a wildcat field in the C. Tutt Survey, A-726.
Southwest Operating-Tyler will drill the Hall Well No. 1 to 7,000 feet four miles east of Tyler in the North Lane Chapel (Paluxy) Field. It is in the S. Barret Survey, A-105 and may be drilled in a wildcat field.
XTO Energy will drill the Brumbaugh Well No. 18H and the Carter SE Unit Well No. B2H to 11,000 feet in the East Newark (Barnett Shale) Field.
The No. 18H is 4.5 miles northwest of Keller in the E. Hopkins Survey, A-646.
The No. B2H is within city limits of Fort Worth in the Pace, D C Survey, A-1245.
Devon Energy will drill the Lucille Lester GU Well No. 2H to 9,000 feet six miles north of Azle in the East Newark (Barnett Shale) Field in the M.W. Ellis Survey, A-489.
Chesapeake Operating will drill the Tech Center Well No. 1H, the Edgecliff C Well No. 3H and the Edgecliff C Well No. 4H in the East Newark (Barnett Shale) Field to 9,000 feet.
The No. 1H is within city limits of Fort Worth in the R.R. Ramey Survey, A-1343.
The No. 3H and No. 4H wells are within city limits of Fort Worth in the G. Hernandez Survey, A-753.
COMPLETIONS
Range Production completed the Ruby Flournoy Well No. 1 to 17,911 feet seven miles southwest of Zavalla in a wildcat field. The well potentialed 1.958 million cubic feet of gas on a 20/64-inch choke.
Devon Energy completed the Buffalo Acres Well No. 1 to 7,447 feet 5.2 miles northeast of Johnson in the East Newark Field. The well potentialed 1.672 million cubic feet of gas on a 20/64-inch choke in the Barnett Shale.
BRG Lone Star completed the Maddoux Gas Unit Well No. 1 to 10,500 feet 14.2 miles northwest of Centerville in the Bear Grass Field. On a 10/64-inch choke the well potentialed 424,000 cubic feet of gas in the Travis Peak.
The Doss Gas Unit Well No. 27 and the Alton Sims Gas Unit Well No. 27 have been completed in the Freestone Field by Berry Oil Co.
The Doss Gas Unit Well No. 27 hit 11,950 feet 13.5 miles northwest of Jewett. On a 30/64-inch choke the well potentialed 885,000 cubic feet of gas.
The Alton Sims Well No. 27 hit 11,950 feet 13.7 miles northwest of Jewett. On a 26/64-inch choke the well potentialed 1.020 million cubic feet of gas. Production is in the Cotton Valley-Bossier Consolidated.
Valence Operating completed the Corgey Well No. 1R to 13,605 feet 16.6 miles east of Nacogdoches in the North Carthage Field. On a 10/64-inch choke the well potentialed 412,000 cubic feet of gas in the Bossier Shale.
Anadarko E&P completed the Gary Gas Unit Well No. 7H to 11,600 feet .3 miles northeast of Gary in the Carthage Field. On a 91/64-inch choke the well potentialed 4.820 million cubic feet of gas in the Cotton Valley.
Anadarko E&P completed the CGU 9 Well No. 12 to 9,500 feet 3.8 miles southwest of Carthage in the Carthage Field and potentialed 835,000 cubic feet of gas on an adjustable choke. Production was in the Cotton Valley formation.
On a 34/64-inch choke the Cunningham Well No. 7 potentialed 1.537 million cubic feet of gas. This well was completed by Classic Operating to 10,455 feet 3.4 miles west of Beckville in the Beckville Field in the Cotton Valley formation.
Chesapeake Operating completed the Pace Well No. 1H to 15,772 feet 17.8 miles northeast of Carthage in the North Carthage Field. On a 22/64-inch choke the well potentialed 14.080 million cubic feet of gas in the Bossier Shale.
ConocoPhillips completed the Ingram 2 Unit Well No. 8 to 9,488 feet 7.4 miles southeast of Carthage, in the Carthage Field. The well hit 9,488 feet and potentialed 581,000 cubic feet of gas on a 18/64-inch choke. Production is in the Cotton Valley.
Chevron U.S.A. completed the T.C. Adams Nct-1 Well No. 64 HS to 14,927 feet six miles northeast of DeBerry in the North Carthage Field. On a 20/64-inch choke the well potentialed 6.441 million cubic feet of gas in the Bossier Shale.
EnCana Oil & Gas (USA) completed the McLean Well No. A6 to 15,950 feet 10.2 miles northeast of Franklin. This well was completed by in the John Amoruso. No test data was recorded. Production is in Bossier formation.
SandRidge Onshore completed the Peal Gas Unit Well No. 1 to 10,902 feet 5.5 miles east of Henderson in the Minden Field. On a 28/64-inch choke the well potentialed 1.986 million cubic feet of gas in the Cotton Valley Consolidated.
Southwestern Energy completed the ADJ Minerals GU 2 Well No. 2H to 13,170 feet 4.7 miles northeast of Attoyac. No test data was recorded. Production is in the James Lime formation.
Cabot Oil & Gas completed the Harding Gas Unit Well No. 1H to 12,489 feet 7.5 miles northwest of San Augustine in the Angie Field. Production is in the James Lime.
Southwestern Energy completed the Timberstar-Hopkins GU 4 Well No. 2H to 13,550 feet 5.4 miles southeast of Aiken in the Angie Field. No test data was recorded. Production is in the James Lime.
St. Mary Land & Exploration completed the Cartwright Well No. 1H to 14,700 feet 12.7 miles southeast of Center in the Huxley Field. On a 40/64-inch choke the well potentialed 4.515 million cubic feet of gas. Production is in the 6100.
Chesapeake Operating completed the DFW Well No. A2HU to 11,453 feet 22 miles northeast of Fort Worth in the East Newark Field. On a 1-inch choke the well potentialed 1.454 million cubic feet of gas in the Barnett Shale.
Chesapeake Operating completed six wells in the East Newark Field.
The Phoenix Well No. 4H hit 9,657 feet within the city limits of Fort Worth and potentialed 5.782 million cubic feet of gas on a 1-inch choke.
The DFW Well No. A3HU hit 11,077 feet within the city limits of Grapevine and potentialed 1.298 million cubic feet of gas on a 1-inch choke.
The DFW Well No. A4HU hit 11,335 feet within the city limits of Grapevine and potentialed 2.276 million cubic feet of gas on a 1-inch choke.
The DFW Well No. A7HD hit 15,322 feet 21 miles northeast of Fort Worth and potentialed 2.170 million cubic feet of gas on a 1-inch choke.
The DFW Well No. A10HU hit 15,159 feet 22 miles northeast of Fort Worth and potentialed 3.685 million cubic feet of gas on a 1-inch choke.
The DFW Well No. A8HU hit 14,931 feet 22 miles northeast of Fort Worth and potentialed 4.174 million cubic feet of gas on a 1-inch choke. Production is in the Barnett Shale.
