The nonprofit organization Sisters in Christ will have it's Third Annual Christ Giving Toy Drive, Food & Bake Sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at 803 N. Confederate Ave. Toys and nonperishable foods can also be dropped off at The Scroll Christian Book Store.

"We have 366 children signed up for toys and 140 families needing food for Christmas," said Michelle Johnson of Sisters in Christ. "The toy and nonperishable food drive will continue until Dec. 19. All proceeds will go toward those families in need."

Pleasant Grove Baptist Church will celebrate its 130th Church Anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Robert L. Davis of Corinth Baptist Church will be the guest seaker. The church is on Country Road 384 (the Old Longview Road) three miles east of Loop 323. The Rev. James A. Johnson, Jr. is the host pastor.

The Texas Gospel Music Hall of Athens, 6513 Highway 19 South will have a Bluegrass Gospel Weekend featuring Louisiana's Southern Drive, Arkansas's Mike Powell and Prairie Wind from Texas. The concert will start at 6 p.m. Call 903-677-2429 for ticket information. Tickets will also be sold at the door.

Lakeview Church of the Nazarene will present the group David's Song at 10 a.m. Sunday.

"A concert with David's song is more than just a concert," said information from the church. "It consists of a variety of gospel music filled with tight harmonies, beautiful solos, testimonies and above all, praise. They believe Christians should be the most joyful people around.

Love Overflowing of Kilgore will present Greg and LaSharon Benton at 10 a.m. Thursday. Benton will "have a timely message for us through the prophetic gifts and God's anointing," said information from Love Overflowing.
