East Texas

A tornado watch has been issued for Anderson, Cherokee, Gregg, Henderson, Rains, Rusk, Smith, Upshur, Van Zandt and Wood counties in East Texas, according to KYTX CBS19, TylerPaper.com's media partner.

TylerPaper.com weather radar shows storms approaching the East Texas and Tyler areas from the west at this hour.

Storms east of Tyler near the Texas-Louisiana border are producing hail, heavy rains and some flooding conditions. The National Weather Service is investigating unconfirmed reports of tornadoes in that area. The storm cell producing the severe weather is moving away from the Tyler area.

Flood warnings are in effect for Anderson, Cherokee, Gregg, Henderson, Smith, Upshur, Wood and Rusk counties, KYTX CBS19 reports.
