Football: Edgewood 29, Mineola 20
MINEOLA -- Ethan Rutter threw four touchdown passes to lead the Edgewood Bulldogs past the Mineola Yellow Jackets, 29-20, on Friday.
Rutter connected with Wyatt McBride and Darrius Rogers to give the Bulldogs (3-1) a 14-0 lead.
Mineola (3-1) made it 14-7 with 42 seconds remaining in the half on a 1-yard run by Tyler Drennon.
Edgewood expanded its lead to 27-7 in the third quarter on a TD passes to Clay Haltom and Colten Hinton.
The Yellow Jackets began a fourth-quarter comeback with an 18-yard TD pass from Drennon to Brian Meankins to make the score 27-14.
After giving up a safety, Mineola scored again with 5:51 left in the game on a 2-yard run by Paul Nevarez.
