Football: Paris Outlasts Lindale In Offensive Explosion
LINDALE -- Coming off the wrong side of a 71-0 defeat last week, Paris showed they have some big-play potential themselves defeating Lindale 51-41 Friday night.
Lindale's first possession started at their own 26 after stopping the Wildcats of Paris on a fourth-and-one.
After losing yardage on second and third down plays the problem only got worse as Paris defenders blocked the punt as Wildcat Kendall King scooped the ball up at the 3, taking it across for the first of many scores on the night.
Lindale answered with a significant drive, capped by a 22-yard Matt Broussard run.
However, the Wildcat big play struck quickly on an 80-yard pass from Corbin Taylor to running back Tyrell Smith.
Lindale (1-3) again answered, this time on a Keandre Ross five-yard run.
Again, the Wildcat big play ability showed up in the form of a 55-yard pass from Taylor to Smith.
Turnovers struck the Eagles when on consecutive drives Lindale threw interceptions to Paris' Cory Battle. He returned the second 18 yards for a TD and put the Wildcats up 25-14 at the half.
After halftime, Lindale tried to keep pace but could never get closer than 10-points.
Paris (2-2) scored on a run of 19, another interception return, a Smith run of 51 and a Taylor pass of 59.
