Football: Red Oak Wins To Put Whitehouse In 0-4 Hole

RED OAK -- Red Oak waited four weeks to play its first home game of the season.
The Hawks made it worthwhile, dominating from start to finish in a 31-14 victory against Whitehouse on Friday night at Billy Goodloe Stadium.
Red Oak (2-2), which was celebrating its homecoming, scored five minutes into the game and never trailed.
Whitehouse, which was competitive the first three weeks, remains winless on the season at 0-4.
Red Oak, which entered the win column last week against Waco University, came into the game knowing it could win by playing mistake free. Last season, the Hawks turned the ball over five times deep inside Whitehouse territory in a 17-10 loss.
Though they fumbled four times and loss two, the Hawks never allowed mistakes to hurt them. Ishmael Harrison, a running back, put them ahead 7-0 on an 18-yard reception from quarterback Travis Wallis with 6:48 remaining in the opening quarter.
Whitehouse pulled to within one early in the second quarter, but Red Oak went into the half up 21-6 on a 1-yard run by Wallis and a 90-yard interception return by Jeremiah Gaines.
Wallis finished 11-of-17 for 133 yards and a touchdown, plus ran for two scores.
Making his first start, Whitehouse's Casey completed 30 of 50 passes for 401 yards and two touchdowns with three interceptions. His favorite targets were receivers Trey Metoyer (13 receptions, 174 yards) and Skip Caldwell (11 receptions, 161 yards, 13-yard touchdown).
