The East Texas Chapter of The Links Inc. will sponsor the Annual Jazz Brunch from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Holiday Inn Select, 5701 S. Broadway Ave., Tyler.

There will be live music by CB CONCEPT, plus a silent auction, event spokesperson Darlene Lewis said. "Each year, the organization recognizes a citizen who has made a significant contribution to the community. The honoree for 2009 is George Faber," Ms. Lewis said.

Faber is well known in East Texas for his expertise as a pianist and keyboard artist. He has performed with numerous artists, such as Chubby Checker, Percy Sledge, Otis and The Metro Band and the East Texas All Stars.

Faber serves as director of visual and performing arts at Tyler Independent School District, Ms. Lewis said.

Admission to the event is $35.
