Mount Enterprise Takes 64-31 Victory Over Hawkins
MOUNT ENTERPRISE -- Hawkins churned up 479 yards off offense and scored 31 points, but Mount Enterprise (2-0) doubled that in a 64-31 victory Friday.
Mount Enterprise's Kevin Pope accounted for 209 yards rushing, completed a 66-yard touchdown pass and returned a kickoff 80 yards for a score. All told, the Wildcats had 366 yards on the ground and 115 through the air.
That return touchdown gave Mount Enterprise a 40-18 halftime lead.
Hawkins (0-2) quarterback Ryan Gattis was 26 of 34 for 343 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions, one returned for a touchdown by Mount Enterprise's Colton Byler.
