Scholastic Achievements

Graduations
  • Tamara R. Bradford, a 2001 Chapel Hill High School graduate, recently received her Master of Science in Social Work with an emphasis of children and families from the University of Texas at Austin. She attended Tyler Junior College and Texas Woman's University for undergraduate studies. She is a member of Golden Key International Honor Society, National Scholars Honor Society, Tyler Junior College Alumni Association, National Association of Social Workers and the American Association of University women.

  • Mary Blake, of Whitehouse, received her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice degree May 9 at Harding University.

  • Jeffery Clayton Brummett, a 2005 Mineola High School graduate, received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Art and Design Studies with a minor in history from the University of North Texas on May 16.

  • He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Greg Brummett of Bedford, formerly of Mineola, and the late Kathy Harpole Brummett.

  • Adam Kent Brummett, a graduate of Henderson High School and Kilgore Junior College, received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History with a minor in German from the University of North Texas on May 16.

  • He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kent Brummett of Henderson, formerly of Mineola.

  • Leigha Frances Caron, of Tyler, graduated from Dallas Baptist Univerisity with a Bachelor of Business Administration. She is the daughter of Tom and Diane Caron.

  • Ms. Caron is a member of SGA, was a resident assistant and received the Martin Moore Servant Leader Award.

  • Brittany Roberson, of Tyler, received an Associate of Arts degree May 16 from Mary Hardin-Baylor.

  • Jennifer Ann Krolczyk, of Bullard, received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Administrative Marketing from Sam Houston State University in May.

  • Miranda Logan, a 2000 graduate of Whitehouse High School, on May 15 graduated from medical school from Oklahoma State University. She was named Outstanding Graduate of 2009 by the OSU Board of Regents fro graduating in the top of her class with a 4.0 GPA and volunteering more than 350 hours of service during her four-year education. She will begin residency in emergency medicine at the University of Oklahoma in Tulsa on July 1.

  • Ms. Logan received her Bachelor's Degree in Biology from the University of Texas at Dallas. She is the daughter of Mark and Dawn Logan.

  • Lauren Ashley Gatti, a 2004 graduate of Whitehouse High School , and daughter of Max and Margaret Gatti of Whitehouse, and granddaughter of Dr. Robert and Della Gatti of Lindale, received an Associate in Arts Degree in Liberal Arts with honors June 8 from Tulsa Community College.


  • Honors
  • Sophomores Jennifer A. Cooks (Psychology) and David Ray Hunter (Criminal Justice) and senior Samuel Glyn Stokes (History), all of Tyler, were named to the Dean's List at Sam Houston State University for the spring semester.

  • Ricky Scott Shields was named to the President's Honor Roll at Texas State Technical College in Marshall for the spring semester.

  • Sarah A. Welch, an All Saints Episcopal School student, was named in April as a member of the National Society of High School Scholars.

  • Curtis Dean Lindsey, of Troup, recently was recognized as a member of Sigma Alpha Lambda, a national leadership and honors organization.

  • Curtis is the son of Kent and Lissa Lindsey. He is a 2008 graduate of Troup High School. He is attending Texas A&M University and majoring in AgEconomics.

  • Allison Klingsick, a 2006 Arp High School graduate, was named to the Dean's Honor Roll at the University of North Texas for earning a 3.5 GPA. She is the daughter of Dr. Ron and Shirley Kingsick.

  • Byron Alexander Marshall (School of Design) and Taylor Charles Watkins(School of Performing Arts), both of Tyler, recently were named to the Dean's List at Savannah College of Art and Design for the 2008 winter quarter.

  • Kristi Nipp, 18, was chosen as a finalist for the National American Miss Texas Pageant to be held in July in Dallas. She is a member of the Family Career Community Leaders of America. She is the daughter of Cheryl Walker and Wayne Arlon Nipp Jr.

  • Mississippi College has named Mandy E. Hartung to the list of academic scholars for the 2009 spring semester for maintaining a 4.0 GPA for the spring semester.
