Carthage Woman Dies In Crash
A Carthage woman was killed Thursday morning when her SUV left the roadway and struck a concrete culvert near Long Branch.
According to a report by Texas Department of Public Safety Cpl. J. Stewart, 46-year-old Risa Roberts Adair died at the scene about 3:30 a.m. Thursday. She was the lone occupant.
Stewart reported Adair was traveling northbound on Farm-to-Market Road 1798 about five miles north of Long Branch in Rusk County in a 1997 Ford Explorer when she failed to negotiate a curve, overcorrected and struck a culvert on the opposite side of the roadway.
The report stated she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
