REL Grad Heads To Carnegie Hall To Perform With YouTube Symphony Orchestra
Dawson White, a music (viola) major at Baylor University, is performing at Carnegie Hall today.
He is one of 90 young classical musicians from 70 countries selected for the YouTube Symphony Orchestra.
More than 3,000 videos were submitted by amateur and professional musicians, and musicians from professional orchestras including the London and San Francisco symphonies and the Berlin, Hong Kong and New York philharmonic orchestras picked 200 finalists.
White is one of the winners selected by voters on YouTube.
He began playing the viola at Moore Junior High and continued at Robert E. Lee High School.
White was one of 13 to make the cut.
Look for him on YouTube Thursday where a video of the orchestra's performance will be posted.
