April 9: Growing The Government
Regarding Joe Forgy's recent letters, I would point out that if it wasn't for President Franklin Roosevelt's "big government" plans, Joe wouldn't have had to live in those Hoovervilles for nearly as long, and if it wasn't for World War II, there's no telling how long it would have been.
If President Barack Obama's plan works, it will result in the government getting even bigger. But it won't work, because the intention is to kill the golden goose so the government can take it all.
So yes, I want Obama to fail. I would rather live under a bridge as a free man, than to live in government housing on food stamps as a slave.
The economy most likely would already be back on its feet, if government hadn't gotten involved.
And there would never have been a problem in the first place if government had stayed out of the home loan business. Government is not the solution. It's the problem.
